The Concept: Reversing the Theme
Created during the GMTK 2025 Game Jam, our team was tasked with the theme LOOP. During our brainstorming phase, we decided to look at it differently and literally reversed the word to get POOL.
From there, our concept was born: a simple, short game where you must successfully maneuver a ragdoll to land in a tiny pool over and over again from increasingly greater heights. We added the subtitle Land On Our Pool as a fun way to sneak the word LOOP back into the title. If you can manage to dive down from the absolute highest point, you win!
My Contributions
Audio & Music
I took on the responsibility of creating the sound effects and music for the game. This was a fantastic learning experience in mixing and theme creation, serving as direct preparation for my audio work on our larger studio project, Pick Some Axe.
Unity & Ragdolls
The jam was a great excuse to get hands-on with Unity's physics systems. Our team experimented with the built-in ragdoll system to create the fun and unpredictable falling mechanics that serve as the core of the gameplay.
Team Leadership
Beyond engine work, I focused on scheduling and leading our team. The goal wasn't just to make a game, but to bond as a unit before tackling larger studio projects. Coordinating a short sprint such as this was tough, but incredibly rewarding.
